San Francisco TMJ and Sleep Apnea
Dr. Larson is also passionate about bringing his patients the highest level of quality and service that modern techniques and technology can provide. He has recruited a highly trained team who understands his commitment to excellence. Dr. Larson and his team are excited to bring their knowledge, expertise and smiling faces to Bay Area and out of state patients. The SF TMJ and Sleep Apnea Team strives to make personal relationships with their patients, and they know patient experience is the ultimate measure of a dental practice. Dr. Larson loves his work. He loves relieving years of headaches and jaw pain, advocating for superb oral health, and encouraging each individual’s total well-being.
As a craniofacial pain and dental sleep medicine expert, Dr. Larson helps patients find the ideal physiologic rest position for their jaws to alleviate pain and discomfort associated with the TMJ and partners with physicians to treat Obstructive Sleep Apnea and snoring. When a patient’s teeth and jaw are out of harmony, the patient can experience head, neck, back and ear pain. Dr. Larson believes with the correct diagnosis, treatment and care these problems can be corrected. He also provides highly specialized regenerative treatments such as Prolotherapy and Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) to stimulate TMJ healing, Trigger Point injections to eliminate muscle pain, and nasal breathing retraining to relax the Central nervous system.
Dr. Larson has earned 3 Fellowship Awards with the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, Academy of General Dentistry, LVI and is double board certified in Craniofacial Pain-Dental Sleep Medicine and in Dental Sleep Medicine. For fun, he recently studied 330 hours and recertified in his first job title after college, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
When he isn’t treating patients, Dr. Larson enjoys spending time with his lovely wife and their two daughters. He also enjoys water sports, and he is a former Olympic Team alternate and U.S. National Swim Team member. He recently became the 17th person of all time to swim the long 23 miles of Lake Tahoe, and he competes in triathlon races such as the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon as a South End Rowing Club member.
Dr. Larson gives back to his community in several ways. He is a 20 year member of the Guardsmen of San Francisco. The Guardsmen of San Francisco provide at-risk Bay Area youth with scholarship and outdoor education programs. He partners with the Delancey Street organization and donates his dental services to participants starting new, drug-free lives. He also finds time to coach local swim teams, after work in the spring and summer seasons.
