Meet Greg D. Larson, DDS of the
Dr. Greg Larson attended the prestigious University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1999. He understands that the best professionals never stop learning, and has attended over 2500 hours of continuing education in post-graduate residencies including two residencies recently with Dr. Steve Olmos and TMJ and Sleep Therapy International. In 2007, after completing a challenging two year curriculum in Cosmetic and TMJ rehabilitation which resulted in a Fellowship award, Dr. Larson was awarded a clinical instructor position at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI) where he mentored and trained hundreds of dentists across the world. In 2013, Dr. Larson put his fifteen years of treating TMJ disorders to the test by passing a rigorous testing process with the AACP- The American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, earned his Fellowship designation, FAACP and has passed written Diplomat exams with the American Board of Craniofacial Pain and the American Board of Craniofacial Dental Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Larson is also passionate about bringing his patients the highest level of quality and service that modern techniques and technology can provide. He has recruited a highly trained team who understands his commitment to excellence. Dr. Larson and his team are excited to bring their knowledge, expertise and smiling faces to Bay Area and out of state patients. The SF TMJ and Sleep Apnea Team strives to make personal relationships with their patients, and they know patient experience is the ultimate measure of a dental practice. Dr. Larson loves his work. He loves relieving years of headaches and jaw pain, advocating for superb oral health, and encouraging each individual’s total well-being.
As a craniofacial pain and dental sleep medicine expert, Dr. Larson helps patients find the ideal physiologic rest position for their jaws to alleviate pain and discomfort associated with the TMJ and partners with physicians to treat Obstructive Sleep Apnea and snoring. When a patient’s teeth and jaw are out of harmony, the patient can experience head, neck, back and ear pain. Dr. Larson believes with the correct diagnosis, treatment and care these problems can be corrected.
Dr. Larson has earned Fellowship Awards with the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, Academy of General Dentistry, LVI and is a member with the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM), International College of Craniomandibular Orthpaedics (ICCMO), American Academy of Orofacial Pain, American Academy of Pain Management, Academy of Laser Dentistry, and the San Francisco Dental Society.
When he isn’t treating patients, Dr. Larson enjoys spending time with his lovely wife and their two daughters . He also enjoys water sports, and he is a former Olympic Team alternate and U.S. National Swim Team member. He recently became the 17th person of all time to swim the long 23 miles of Lake Tahoe, and he competes in triathlon races such as the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon.
Dr. Larson gives back to his community in several ways. He is a 13-year member of the Guardsmen of San Francisco. The Guardsmen of San Francisco provide at-risk Bay Area youth with scholarship and outdoor education programs. He partners with the Delancey Street organization and donates his dental services to participants starting new, drug-free lives. He also finds time to coach local swim teams, after work in the spring and summer seasons.
